The powders need to absorpb  ultraviolet light, sunlight and other visible lights for a minimum of 15-30 minutes obviously the longer they are under light the longer they will last, they then can hold their own continuous light,
Continuous light can then be for more than 12 hours, The average life span is around 20 years
