Topcoat or gelcoat — which do I need?
Topcoat is applied after laminating, directly onto the finished outer surface — the standard choice for ponds, roofs and repairs. Gelcoat is applied to a mould before laminating instead — use our Gelcoat Calculator for that.
Do I need a UV-stable topcoat?
Yes, for anything outdoors. Standard (non-UV-stable) topcoat can discolour or chalk with prolonged sun exposure.
How many coats do I need?
One coat is standard for most projects. A second coat can even out colour and improve durability on high-wear or highly visible surfaces.
